Expressionism with Alison Alexander (Workshop Recording)
Learn to say more with your face, in photos, on camera, and on stage.
$25.00
Taught by Alison Alexander, a freelance model and artist with over a decade of experience. 💋
Most of us freeze up when it’s time to do something with our face. In Expressionism, Alison breaks down how to move past the “neutral face” and play with real emotion. You’ll learn how to hold a relaxed, engaged neutral, play with your gaze, use vowel shapes to build expressions, and connect with the feeling behind them. She also covers hands, music, and ways to stay out of your head. Come ready to be silly, curious, and a little uncomfortable (in a good way).
🖤 No pole required. No heels required. A mirror or phone camera is helpful for practice. Notebook optional for the journaling exercises.
WHAT YOU’LL LEARN:
💋 A neutral face that still looks engaged, using ear, temple, and brow lifts
💋 Gaze tricks like the “smize,” following your nose, and doll eyes
💋 Finding your light, relaxing your jaw, and “turtling” for a sharper jawline
💋 The A-E-I-O-U vowel exercise for building a whole range of expressions
💋 How to fix stretchy eyeballs, held expressions, and blinking
💋 Soft, expressive hands and finger-wave exercises
💋 Choosing music that supports the mood you want
💋 Mapping the primary emotions, plus a homework exercise to build your own range
💋 Live Q&A on mood boards, pitch decks, pacing, and more
