We highly recommend one, especially while you're learning inverts and tricks. The thicker the mat, the more protection for advanced moves. Can't swing one yet? You can absolutely still train, just be extra safe: clear the space around your pole, pad the floor with something stable (folded blankets or a thick rug beat anything that slides or rolls), learn new tricks low to the ground first, and grab a spotter when you can. Progress at your own pace, babe. 💋
